? on Hastings Ne Pitbull ordinance
Hey,
me again, still have Deezel and a friend of mine has moose...I am going to be moving to Hastings with my son, boyfriend, my boyfriends cocker spaniel, and Deezel. Does anyone know what the ordinance is for having a pit in Hastings or if there is one?
Also, does anyone know how to get a dog to stop pooing by the gate at night. Deezel has been pooing on the floor latly and i have no idea why...i take him out before bed and right away in the morning...but sure enough...there is always poo on the floor...he was potty trained...

I don't think there is one but there could be, but I highly doubt it.

These folks will be able to tell you about a ban:
Heartland Pet Connection - Home
(they are the shelter in Hastings)
I'm not sure what to tell you about the dog, but you should post in the Pets section there are knowlegable people down there!

OK I'll bite...........
Thanks for taking the Pitbulls as far a way from the cities as possible.
It's too bad you have to live your life picking and choosing towns to live in because you have a timebomb on your hands.
Your first question should be is if Hasting has a good hospital to care for the bite victoms your timebomb will inflict on some poor child or bystander.
I would suggest moving out in to the country, as far away from everyone as possible, that way your chances of hurting other folks with the timebomb are reduced greatly.
As far as the pooping goes, sounds like your afraid of the timebomb and it knows it so it does anything it wants and where.
I would suggest buying potties pads that way you can help the economy.

I knew someone would pop on here and give their biased opinion of Pitt Bulls, I don't think the OP asked us to tell her how we feel about these dogs, she asked a question and deserves a simple answer. You obviously have your feelings about Pitt Bulls, whether everyone shares them isn't the point, but what you are saying isn't for this thread.
I happen to be one that would never have a Pitt, but my granddaughter has
2, both are mixed but look just like full blooded Pitts, she also has a little girl that turned 2 the day before yesterday. Her little girls best friends are the dogs. Not all Pitts are fighters, anymore than all labs make great family pets or all basset Hounds are dosil..

Have you taken him to the vet? If dogs are fully housetrained and start to have accidents, it is best to get them checked out by a vet and rule out any medical issues.
Have you changed his food recently and/or his feeding times? New people or animals in the house? Those can have an impact as well.
Make sure no one in the house is punishing him for the accidents, because if he has the accident in the middle of the night and someone punishes him the next morning, he is not able to make the connection between the accident and the punishment. If someone catches him in the act in the middle of the night, they also shouldn't be punishing/yelling at him then, but rather just take him outside to finish.
Also make sure that any areas with "poo" have been completely cleaned. If the area is carpeted, use an enzymatic cleaner to get out all of the odors (even those you can't smell, but your dog still can).
Just some suggestions/things to consider, but I would definitely start with the vet if that hasn't been done yet.
Good luck.

good, give him all the love he needs and wants. Hopefully he will be your best friend and who knows, maybe just seeing him will keep the buglars away.
