Who says Nebraska is a HICK state?
Anyone that thinks Nebraska doesn't have some World Class Doctors is out of their mind. On our local channel 10/11 KOLN/KGIN Ten O'Clock news this evening they had a segment about one of the new Cyber-Knives that is being used at St. Elizabeth's hospital. The Cyber-Knife machine is new technology that allows tracking of cancers and other objects in the Human body and allow a beam of radiation to be directed almost anywhere in the body with pinpoint accuracy. Some surgeries that could not be done without tremendous danger to the patient can now be done. Not only is this new technology BETTER than traditional Cancer treatments but it is cheaper and recovery times are significantly less.
We are Lucky to live in Nebraska. Just don't let anyone know or everyone will want to move here.

I'm confused, then. Is this different than the CyberKnife that is available at all of these locations in the United States? CyberKnife Locations It's available in a plethora of states and has been in some locations for a few years... Glad it is also available in Nebraska now. |

ya, i was thinking the same. we've had the cyberknife for several years and the gamma knife. dont know what the guy is talkin bout, but it is good to see they have one now. |

All I know is that there are several hospitals in Omaha and Lincoln that is a first for a lot of things..
I imagine it is largely in part to the UNMC research center that is world reknown and has its own skyline of 10 buildings with more in the plans..

We must be talking about two different things here, because I am talking about something that was recently announced in the last couple of weeks that we are, again, first to have some type of procedural device or something..
LOL, sorry, I went to search for the article in the Lincoln Journal Star and it's just not there..
So, if you guys already have whatever you say you have, then we must be talking about two completely different things  |
