Smile Lol...

When you think of Ames, Ne think an unincorporated town just west of Fremont, if you move there, you'll probably be looking in Fremont for a job..

Thanks...Im more or less retired so a job is not high on my list. I have been in Fremont before but never made it to Ames so I dont know what it is like.I assume its more like a wide spot on the highway. Am I right? .
Do yu think Ames would be a good place to retire to? Im thinking of a couple of acreas, or would Fremont be a better place?
Thanks again,
Cat

An acreage outside of Fremont would probably be very nice... and if you can't find what you need there... it's a straight shot down to Omaha on 275/West Dodge, which runs like interstate now all the way to the center of town.

I remember going through Ames alot to visit my family that lived in Schuyler. Ames looked abandoned. I don't know what would be a big draw to moving there.

Thanks to all that took the time to give me some information on Ames, Ne. I think the property is a lot less expensive in Ames, as far as I can tell anyway..The closer to Omaha, the higher it gets..Im trying to keep expenses down as much as I can.
