They play within the hour or so, houghtelling should be on the court, so this year we will have
houghtelling: 2005 national player of the year
pavan: 2006 national player of the year
larson: 2006 all-american
stalls: 2006 all-american
holloway: 2006 freshman all-american
out of 6 starters this is what the Huskers have this year :-)
oh yeah, and north platte is not full of hicks or rednecks, it appears that they are more like a small town bedroom-type community of a larger city type of people, the city is about 25,000 people and has a regional draw as the closest metro city is lincoln and that is over 200 miles away, however there are alot of smaller type cities that seem to have alot in them that I went to along the way, like kearney grand island lexington and cozad, seward isn't bad, but is part of the lincoln metro now...

Try climbing Sioux Lookout southeast of town! People think Nebraska is mostly flat because I80 primarily goes through the Platte River Valley, which is really wide in most places.

They think Nebraska is flat because most people who claim to have been in Nebraska, really were just travelling the interstate which is in the Platte River Valley, I saw some huge hills north and south of the valley though.. Seems like the hills are more than just rolling hills, they have a rocky theme to them, I'll bet that those are going to be mountains thousands of years from now... As that is how mountains start, its plate pressure that pushes the land up...

North Platte is a growing community of about 24,000. The UPRR is the largest employer and from what I hear the majority of employees will be reaching retirement in the next 5 years. This creates a need for more families.
I currently live outside Brady,NE about 25 miles east of North Platte. I work in North Platte and Lexington. This is a great area to live and raise a family.
Xman, try looking at some small towns in the area as well. Brady is a 20 minute drive to NP using I-80. It will have a major addition to the school open for fall classes 2008 and the remainder of the school will be remodeled. In many cases you can probably by a comparable home in a small town for about half of what you would pay in Denver.
The hunting and fishing in the area is outstanding and if you golf NP is home to 4 courses, most days you can get on without a tee-time.

You can request info from the Chamber of Commerce.
North Platte is a nice small town. I grew up in Ogallala only 50 miles away. Big lake there to fish and go boating.
My dad drives the railroad people to the jobs. Great company to work for UP.
There is the UP office in Omaha do they help in relocation at all?
