Cell phone providers
I was just wondering which cell phone providers have the best service in Lincoln. I'm moving to Lincoln from Boston and I have Verizon and I want to make sure that Verizon gets good service over there. I have been online and looked at the maps, but those things aren't always right.

Verizon seems to be fine. I know a couple people who have it and they have no problems. Alltel seems to be the biggest cell provider in Nebraska and remember Verizon bought Alltel, so you shouldn't have problems.

I would have said Alltel but with the Verizon buyout its a no brainer. AT&T is not very good here at all, especially if you dare leave Omaha or Lincoln.
Verizon will have excellent coverage throughout the state and will also have excellent national coverage.

I second that. And if you are looking at being located outside of the metro areas. That new company in state that brags about its rural service? Well I have yet to find it, if you catch my drift.

For rural service, I would go with Viaero, hands down.

Not in this area of the state, not if you plan on getting off any highway anyways.

Who does cover the Sandhills, if you get off the highways???
We've got friends and family scattered all over the state. Literally. (and the closest anyone comes to a "city" is a cousin in O'Neill. lol)
Viaero provides the best coverage we've ever had. More importantly, most of the other companies have pretty much built their towers and left it at that. Viaero is building new towers every week!

I would have to say Alltel, you get coverage at Niobrara (nobody else in my group had any bars), North Platte, Lincoln and even in Denver. Like what everybody else has said.. Verizon has bought Alltel. Stay with what you have.

I had Alltel for several years (with an external antenna even).
Viaero beats them by a mile!
