Why isnt Nebraska pro-Omaha? (Lincoln, Chambers: sales, closing, to live)

I think that you've got to be out of your ****ing mind to live in Nebraska!! It just SUCKS here. Anywhere in the midwest is a hellhole--by far the most backwards region of America next to the gluttony in the south. These sheltered idiots I've been around for far too long. Thank god I move back to England next month. There's absolutely no good for here-NONE. The people ARE NOT nice, they're phony and all go behind your back, the worst at properly communicating, which is probably why all these rightwinger's kids sneak behind their backs and get STDs and teen pregnancies. It's a hellhole, and I can't see why anyone can like this place. This is a land of stagnation, of NO opportunity. Why NOT just cut your ties and leave this ****ing place? It's NOT a good place to raise children, it's a place to raise delinquents and I would no since I just graduted highschool a semester early at Westside in West Omaha (A realll nightmare, it's so uncultured and ugly out there in urban sprawl it made me want to kill myself every day) You know what I call the women here? SCOWLS, because they all have these scowls on their ugly faces from graving this nasty weather day in and day out in their bland rountine miserable lives. These people live for this: Job 'security', (Even though this place has very limited if not ANY opportunities for progression beyond Omaha) making tons of babies, and living in some cardboard house out West because the downtown area is unkempt and delapidated of course. Also I live with a very prominent antique dealer David Shaw who owns the store Antiques and Fine Arts on 16th St. Guess what? Not ONE person from NE frequents his shop, let alone anyone else from the MidWest, because they all along with Warren Buffet and many other Americans are uncultured fools. So, only those on either coast buy from him (He's got the finest in quality of antiques) and no one will fly here because Omaha SUCKS so instead he has to sell his prized antiques online now. Go figure. People here are too caught up in eating their red meat, watching their lame unprofessional football teams, and bitching about the weather they CHOOSE to endure. Eating their poor quality foods, not educating or cultivating their children, not traveling--just living meaningless lives. I can't wait to get out of here, never agan in my life will I live here, EVER.

Like I said, uncultured idiots. the first thing my family from England said when they came here is, "Why do they all drive, and noone walks??" That's because there is NO mass transit here, people are too stupid and lazy to invest in such things because they know it will only benefit the impoverished black community here, because they are the only ones who will be progressive and just use mass transport.

You know, after reading all of these posts, I have come to the conclusion that Matt Den was right.

The entire rural population of NE should stop sending its money, its college-bound students, its food production, and its profits to Omaha.

This is where the food is. This is where the profits are. The whole ethanol thing will be completely telescoped by wind power in the western and central part of NE. The local farmers and ranchers should be able to graze their cattle and grow their foodstuffs around the turbines. It is the Legislature in Omaha that has severely retarded this growth - therefore, Omaha is nothing but a handicap to progress for rural Nebraska. Rural Nebraska should secede and leave Omaha and the rest of the country behind, supporting only their own highly intelligent and educated people, their hard-working class of citizenry, and the massive food production abilities. These should be negotiated on a global, not a mere statewide, level. We can sell the Angus and our foodstuffs to the Chinese, and establish a REAL fair trade agreement - the Second Commandment is "Thou shalt not live without food" so we'd have them over a barrel. Rural NE is not allowed to do this currently on their own, but as an independent country, they could. (See, "The Mouse That Roared").

Let's kick Omaha to the curb and do as we please with our own properties, and make a real profit, and leave everyone else in their unproductive and cemented-over dirt! Let's show them what the 1% of the people who feed 99% of the population can and will do.

Why does everyone drive?? Well, the population densities in the US are far far lower than that found in Europe. Its simply more efficient to drive than it is to build train tracks everywhere in order to service a small number of people. Its simple an issue of economics!! Its simply NOT cost effective do to it! Why would you build something when it makes more economic sense to drive!!

I have been all over England and you couldn't pay me to live there. Its an ironic combination of pretentiousness and squaller. Further, there is very little true autonomy and most seemed to just drone along with no real purpose.
