Default Can Lincoln-area TWC subscribers receive HD channels on an HDTV with a built-in QAM tuner?

I"m a basic cable subscriber through Time Warner, and I am strongly considering the purchase of a 42" Magnavox LCD HDTV, which has a built-in QAM tuner. An HDTV with a QAM tuner lets you receive a handful of channels in high definition, if the local cable provider is sending out unscrambled HD signals. I had no idea this was possible until I spoke to a friend of mine from high school.

That friend, who currently lives in San Antonio, also has an LCD HDTV with a built-in QAM tuner, and he can receive his local stations in HD without a cable set-top-box.

Does anyone know if TWC sends out unscrambled HD signals, which would allow me to view any channels, local or national, in HD just going through a coaxial input?

Any insight/information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Zach

Default QAM is available on TWC in the Lincoln area

Just got off the phone with TWC and yes they do broadcast the normal broadcast stations over cable using QAM256.
