Is Lincoln local government one of the most sleazy operations in the country? (Omaha: crime rate)

I was just wondering about thoughts on the Lincoln local government entities. They are all run in such a manner that really has stagnated the community. Coleen Seng is widely thought of as a complete failure (in my opinion and certainly many others) and the Lincoln Public School District board is also a horribly run operations thats primary mission is to tax senior-citizens out of there homes.

In my opinion Lincoln should drop the strong mayor form of government and look go to a city manager form of government either that or out-source government functions to possibly pre-schoolers in Omaha. Its just incredible how these bizzare, unethical and im-moral people who run the local Lincoln area government entities operate.

For instance the Lincoln Public School board is ran by a bunch of extremely big spenders who have no respect for hard workers.
It is likely to be the most arrogant local government entities in the country.

Here is the Lincoln tremendous property tax bills on a 200,000 home:
Total $3,994 (Wow, incredible)

City of Lincoln $567 (The political operatives and clique who runs this community insists on having high city taxes for average Joe so they can have the high-class elite that runs this operation called Lincoln can have big special interests projects)
County $513 (Lancaster County subsidizes organizations that reduce the cost of alcoholics and drug addicts housing so those alcoholics and drug addicts that Lincoln has many of can buy more drugs and alcohol)
Public Building 34 (They have tack on the buildings expenses instead of having it in the city or county budget)
Capital Purchases 75 (Wow, not only do they add on the public building budget they add on capital purchases)
Lincoln Public Schools Bonds $356 (Looks like since Nebraskans only reason for marriage is pro-creation they have to build tons of new schools since Nebraskans see marriage means they have a duty to pro-create)
School District 1: $2,122 (I would venture to guess those highly payed administrative are licking their lips at the thought of taxing senior-citizens into moving away from the state)
Educational Service Service: $28 (Another passive Nebraska attempt to make the School District 1 appear less shocking)
RR Safe district: $49
Platte NRD: $83

Now a common-sense Colorado Springs tax bill: 200,000 home
Colorado Springs: $846

El Paso County: $86 (El Paso County commisioners like to pinch pennies and be as fiscally conservative as possible in my opinion)
EPC roads and bridges: $104 (Its amazing how good the roads are in Colorado Springs. I dont see constant traffic backups on 8th street in Colorado Springs like 27th street in Lincoln)
City of Colorado Springs: $68 (Where the police actually know how to serve and protect the public and it shows Colorado Springs violent crime rate 479 per 100,000, Lincoln 573 per 100,000)
Colorado Springs D-11: $554 (I guess it could be like Lincoln and spend four times as much, Lancaster County median wage
is lower then the largest county in the poorest state in the nation median weekly wage)
Pikes Peak Library: $44 (Compare Downtown Colorado Springs almost nearly remodeled beautiful library with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the mountains and monument valley park as opposed to Lincoln's small out-dated dirty depressing library)
They have a few other minor levies for natural resource districts etc.

This all basically points out to the fact that Lincoln is a extremely sleazy operation and no wonder its economic growth rates are similar that to alot of the cities in the rust-belt state of Michigan.

How many dollars for the new Pikes Peak Library came from Private or anonymous donors? You know...the seniors who, way back in the day, paid very little per acre to buy some land and when the influx of people from California came to the Springs, these seniors sold this land to developers for a HUGE amount and, in turn, donated or willed this money to the Library. Don't see a lot of that happening in rural Nebraska...farm land is, well, still being used as farmland. Not being sold at a gazillion times what they paid for it to a huge development corporation! That is why the Library does what it can in Nebraska and Colorado Springs does what it does...do you even think about other circumstances? The more you post without looking at the whole picture surrounding the issue you are ranting about is making the rest of us question the credibility of that Ph.D. you're sporting.

No, this merely points out that you pick certain facts of two completely different cities with different demographics and try to compare them to make one look like the "bad guy" without considering the whole picture! Military jobs and tourism are a HUGE part of the Springs' economy. Lincoln is a pass-through-town-on-your-way-to-the-Springs! Not better OR less sleazy...diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks!! If it is so corrupt, why are you still there? Whine and complain but do nothing to change your situation--good to know that part of the country hasn't changed since I left! (Didn't care for my situation, either--so I changed it! I MOVED--wrap your degree around that concept, my friend.) What you need to understand about the part of the country you know so very little about is that you may not like it, you may want to change it, but if you refuse to KNOW what is going on by WALKING THE WALK instead of spewing nonsense, you will never make an impact ANYWHERE.

What Ph.D?
I do not have a PhD that is for sure, not anywhere close in fact!

It doesnt take a Ph.D to go online and look it up how high the property taxes are in states like Nebraska, Iowa and Texas compared to low property tax states like Alabama, Minnesota and Colorado!
