Special Traveler coming thru Nebraska (Hay Springs, Merriman: 2009, houses, campgrounds)

Hello Everyone,
I want to tell you about my friend, Sharon (and her dog, Orea) that is WALKING through Nebraska as I write you here. She is currently today, 9/26/09 between Hayfield and Merriman and will be walking along Hwy 20 through Nebraska.

Her Story
[SIZE=3]WOMAN WALKS ACROSS U.S. TO RAISE AWARENESS [/SIZE]
[SIZE=3]Sharon's walk started on 9/9/09. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=3]This walk is for healing, for my family and yours, raising awareness for the need of safe houses, clothing, cars and financial aid for families going through the violence and for those trying to heal as a result of it. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=3]Her WISH is that you become aware of Domestic Violence and donate to your local Domestic Violence Shelter. And make the stay longer for them. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3]What Sharon needs[/SIZE]
[SIZE=3]Money for food or food & water[/SIZE]
[SIZE=3]Money for Shelter or a place to stay – she has a tent and a dog. She has been staying in campgrounds and in yards donated at times. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=3](Note: there is no baby in the Stroller, only her items needed for this walk)[/SIZE]
[SIZE=3]Donations can be made to your local or favorite Domestic Violence Shelter.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=3] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=3]Purple Ribbons Place on fence if you have a place for Sharon to stay or[/SIZE]
[SIZE=3] Wear a purple ribbon in support of Sharon as she passes through your area.[/SIZE]

Hmm... only problem is that most houses are far back from the road, and the wind is as likely as not to snatch a ribbon off a fence and stick it on another one - 20 miles away!

I wish her luck and health. One thing about NE - she won't do without for long; most folks will try to stop and offer her a lift!

I think you may mean Hay Springs and Merriman, but they are 60 miles apart.

This is REAL folks! Sharon has a set a personal mission to assist in the fight against Domestic Violence. Sharon is currently, October 5th in Royal, staying in her tent waiting for the weather to break so she can continue walking. She will need a place to stop and work through the cold part of winter soon. If you know of any places, please let me know and I will get the word to her. Or if you can help in any way, let me know.
