Ok, it's technically not in Lincoln, it's in Waverly, but Joni's has one of the best cheese steak hoagies I've ever had.

I work in Greenwood and drive by Joni's everyday. It looks like a total dive, I have never heard about the food there. Thank you for the info, I will try and stop for lunch someday.

Dish- I have personally never been there
Dangit about Blue Orchid. Everyone always raved about it. Did another restaurant replace it?

Yeah I've been to the Peacock Room (near Southepointe?) but I didn't know they had a buffet. I just had the curry but it was good. I also saw a restaurant on Old Cheney called Tandoor. Anyone been there yet?

It IS a total dive, but that's what's so great about it. It's small and kinda crappy looking, but the food is awesome.

Hooray for this thread! I went to college for 6 years in Lincoln and I've definitely got some faves...
1. All-around winner: Lazlo's. They're taking over the world...or at least the Haymarket.
2. Mexican: LaPaz by the O St Mall. Maybe my favorite Mexican restaurant ever.
3. Pizza: Yia Yai's on O St downtown. I love creating my own slice and the atmosphere is cool. This is where you want to go to impress your hipster friends.
4. Chain: I love Bison Witches. Great soup & sandwiches for a cheap prices, at least last time I was there.
Mmmmm, good memories.

Couldn't agree more with your top three here. Great meals and memories at each of these places. I only went to Bison Witches once, but I thought it was cool...

Yes they're good. Nothing like Crawdaddy's, though!! That was the real Cajun joint in Lincoln. So sad to lose that place.
