Just drove into town 4 hrs ago with our Penske 16' truck pulling our non running Crown Vic and us driving our van. Goofy friend driving truck.

We had malfunctions all day. First our driver did not release parking brake and we waited on side of road for over and hour for help. What a DORK!!!! Thenwe got to our land with what we thought liveable trailer. The trailer was left in horrid condition, carpet ruined with dog crap and pee smelling to high heaven and outside left with junk strewn all over.

So after we unload car, that was a real bee otch, we decided to get storage unit next day and unload and have new carpet put in. So dorky friend rehooks trailer and takes off and he did not latch good and it fell off going slow and now we can't get emergency brake released so trailer can move. Tire barely turn. Had to get motel tonight which is an unexpected 180.00 for 2 rms plus storage, plus new carpet plus we have to drive 160 miles roundtrip to get driver to bus depot to go home then drop truck off 160 mile roundtrip in North Platte, NE. All this in record cold and sleet and snow.

We are glad to be here but were not expecting all this headache and cold weather. Just needed to vent...

Don't think that this cold front is just relegated to mccook. It is a monster cold front, coming in from Canada. Denver's temp tomorrow will be all of 30 degrees. In a couple days it will warm back up to 55 or so!

That was a real good initiation to Nebraska.
Is isn't always like that but you do need to be prepared for days like that.
The only way it could have been worse is with more snow and horrendous wind,
but you will probably have a chance to see that soon.

I don't remember where you were from but in a trailer house you have to have working
heat tape on the waterline underneath the trailer.

I sent you a PM Big Mann

LOL well, I could tell you the horror stories about what we had to go thru moving 1700 miles to NE, too, but it probably wouldn't make you feel any better!

Any and EVERY move has problems; really, it does. I used to be fairly nomadic in my youth and never ONCE did it go smoothly! The best part is being able to look back at it, laugh, and say, "WHEW! Glad THAT's over!"

But I will say that the NEXT move I make will involve a graveyard! Grin
