I was also wondering if anyone could tell me about Mid-Nebraska Speedway. My husband races on a dirt track up here in Washington State, so having a good track to race at is a huge factor for us. That, and good hunting! Any input you could pass my way would be appreciated, thanks!

Check this website. There are lots of dirt tracks in Nebraska. I'm in the southeast area (Beatrice) and our track hosts 2 national events every year. Also the hunting is prime in my area. People come from all over the US to hunt during peasant in the fall.

Thanks, Mike! The hubby had actually already researched your track, and had decided if we end up in the Lincoln area (most likely Hickman), he'd be gettin' 'r done at Beatrice! We were pretty darn impressed with your website- looks like a great place to race, thanks!

Beatrice track is definately one of the best in the state, look at the many others also with in a short drive of the Lincoln area, like Butler County Speedway, US 30, McCool Junction track, a bunch around that are pretty good.
And as far as hunting goes in the state, what does you husband enjoy the most? Mulie deer in my area of the state, some excellent turkey hunting, give me a shout. |

Thanks, Sandhill! Yeah, he's on the Beatrice website darn near every night. He scares me sometimes, lol!
He doesn't bird hunt; deer and elk only. We also both enjoy shooting clay- are there any good areas outside of Lincoln where a person can shoot? Around here we just find a wide spot in a logging road in the mountains and you're rural enough that none of the tree huggers complain. Any good areas you can think of? |

Branched Oak west of Raymond there are some areas out there you can shoot on your own. Should be a couple clubs around your area with trap setups. North of Ashland there is one for sure.
Good luck on your husband getting an elk tag in Nebraska, been trying now for several years and not yet. Some very decent deer hunting in the state, might be tough to find private ground around Lincoln to hunt, but get outstate and he will have some luck on private ground. |

Deer hunting is real good in the southeast part of Nebraska. This area is Johnson, Pawnee, Nemaha and Richardson Counties. All three are south east of Lincoln. All you would need to do is drive down to this area take a look around find a good location, find the land owner by going to the local Sheriff Department and ask for permission. Most will give it to you just to get rid of some of the deer. |
