although not incorperated, the lakes is a real estate development that is located south of summerland in the west side of Vegas. Street wise, it is located on sahara ave between Decator and rampart and goes south to Dessert Inn. It has three zip codes because some of the businesses (Citi in particularly) produce so much out going and in going mail that they are issued their own zip. The lakes location for citi is for their citicards division and receive card payments their and some citi financial accounts. (I used to work for them) Citi's morgages are handeled through citi financial.

The Lakes is nothing real. It is simply a dummy used primarily by Citicorp's finanacial operations to avoid appearing to be in Las Vegas - though they are. The all end up at the CitiBank facility on Sahara.

The Lakes is between Durango and Fort Apache and Sahara and Desert Inn. It is part of the City of Las Vegas, and as olecapt said, it is a fake name.

chiyote, that would be SUMMERLIN, not Summerland.
Also, The Lakes is a good area. Not really big. The residential part is all 89117. |

been to Pahrump and it is as you say. Just wondering what kind of work you did there? I don't see much availability of jobs?

It's pretty small there, I wouldn't think there are many jobs beyond some retail customer service type of positions. You'd have to commute to Las Vegas for decent paying jobs I would think.

.THEY MAY HAVE THEIR OWN ZIP CODE BUT THATS ALL! THE LAKES IS A GREAT COMMUNITY WITH A PRETTY GOOD ELEMENTRY SCHOOL AS WELL (10 HOUSES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE). ITS CALLED THE LAKES BECAUSE IT A HAS A HUGE LAKE IN IT. IT HAS PRIVATE LAKE THAT ONLY RESEDINTS OF THE GATED COMMUNITY CAN USE. UNLIKE DESERT SHORES. THE ENTIRE LAKES COMMUNITY LIES IN A CIRCLE OF STREESTS: LAKES SOUTH, LAKES WEST, LAKES NORTH, AND LAKES EAST. THAT IS WHAT REALLY DEFINES THE LAKES AREA. HOPE THIS HELPS! |

Citibank and Sears use "the lakes" as an address, but it isnt much of a neighborhood. I believe it is off West Sahara. It isnt an area full of lovely lakes. If you are looking for an area like that(full of water and lake athmosphere) - try Desert Shores. I believe the zip there is 89128.

Hello, Citibank has a payment site in The Lakes, Nevada so that is probably where your mortgage payment is going.
I work for Citibank and we give out the address about 50 times a day. Of course, it is a p.o. box but it is in the Lakes which is about 20 miles west of Vegas. |
