Are you kidding? The Lakes, Nv is right in Las Vegas.
I looked it up on Google. It's only a few miles from the Strip, so I guess population etc is pretty much known. |

The Lakes, Nevada is on the westside of Las Vegas. Yes, it has multiple ZIP Codes. It is not part of the incorporated city of Las Vegas, though, and as a result, finance companies, insurance companies, banks, etc. use it as a headquarters. . . so they can enact written contractual agreements more to their liking (apparently the City of Las Vegas disallows some financial practices that the county Las Vegas is in, Clark County, allows. Go figure.).
So The Lakes is basically set up for the benefit of the different financial companies doing business in Clark County, Nevada. Sorta akin to these same types of companies setting up shop in South Dakota. Same reasons. Financial opportunity. The laws benefit the financial interests that have offices there. The Lakes is not set up for residential living, though it may have residences there (haven't checked). I do remember driving by there and seeing swank office buildings, if you know what I mean. You get the drift! s/AV Native |

While we're on the topic, there are some companies and organizations that have their own ZIP Codes due to the high volume of mail they receive. Some examples I can think of off the top of my head are the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association when it was located in Minneapolis, MN, and Focus on the Family when it moved first to Pomona, CA and then later to Colorado Springs, CO. This isn't by any means favoritism practiced by the USPS. . . it is simply good distribution management of the mails. You'll also find areas of high population growth acquiring new ZIP Codes, especially in suburbia. One incorporated city in my home valley used to have one ZIP Code, and now it has three. . . again, all due to mail volume increases. s/AV Native Last edited by Yac; 08-30-2006 at 01:47 PM. Try this info (from Yahoo Yellow Pages)
Citi Financial (702) 655-8250 3250 N Tenaya Way # 109 Las Vegas, NV There's no listing for CitiMortgage, but the address above is in the Lakes area of Vegas, so maybe this is them. Bob |

Citibank has a mailing address of "The Lakes, Nevada". Yes it is in Las Vegas on the western end. Nothing special; just a sea of pink tiled roofs.

If you want something different, try Pahrump NV. I say this tongue-in-cheek" because even though they advertise Pahrump has a great place to retire to it's people and atmosphere are very unusual. I worked there for four years and felt like I was in another universe. This town got electricity in 1964; their first stop light in 1996. The stories about this town are true and so are the characters who live there. What an experience.
