Theofficer wrote a ticket for about $170 and we went on our merry way. They did not remove the lates nor did anyone from DMV come to our house and remove the plates.
So you aren't carrying insurance on it either?

They might not come to your house and take your plates, but they very well could impound your vehicle for expired registration if you get stopped.

Im sure attempting to kick the troopers ass will likely result in further legal fees, fines, medical bills, and a room to stay in for a period of time.

Perhaps it's best to either keep your insurance current or turn the tags in.
Another reason why I moved from West Virginia to Nevada. WV is one of the worst of the eastern states that has way too much government, taxes, silly laws, restrictions, and regulations. What scares me is that all these people who have moved here from the kind of states where they don't feel they can live without the government regulating every inch of their lives being actually elected to office in Nevada.

Now, if you abandon a car on a public street, you might lose both the car and the plates, but that's because somebody reported the abandoned car. Park in out of sight and none of that would happen, and your neighbors' property values wouldn't go down because of junk cars on the street.

We have/had insurance on it. We just rarely use the vehicle and didn't notice that the tags had expired because we didn't receive the renewal. Now we mark them on our calendar because the postal service in our area has gotten really bad.
