Hello all,
I am moving to Indian Springs in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if there is any high speed internet options (DSL or Cable)? I am also having a a hard time finding out if there is a Cable TV provider. As far as I can tell from various providers websites is that none of the big names service the area. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
~Bones

Dont most of the Creech AFB people live in NW Las Vegas and commute? If you need things like high speed internet and cable, better plan on living in town.

Isn't that where the Nevada Test Site was located for the Atomic Bomb?

Yeah I realize there isn't much there but I believe verizon 3G reaches out that far and from what I can tell ATT provides DSL out to the area... as far as I can tell, it doesn't look like any cable companies service the area. Really just hoping for some confirmation...

Yeah most live in NW Vegas, however, I figure I can save a good deal of money living in indian springs and it will save a good deal of time as well... I will only have to make the commute on the weekends vs every weekday.

I don't know about now but a friend of mine some years ago said that only satellite TV was available ...Direct or Dish in the Indian Springs area. Most of the cell carriers will have 3G in the area but I'm not sure what other internet options are there.

I may be taking a job in the area soon and already doing some planning.... what is the regular commute time from N.LV? I ask because mapquest drive times and ACTUAL drive times are totally different animals.

Secondary question.... I like a bit of the rural life as i have a couple goats and MANY chickens... is there any place that may be a touch closer to "stuff"?

To NLV, depending on the part of it (Nellis?), approx 1 hr depending on traffic. Indian Springs is not incorporated so doesn't anything other than Clark County laws meaning, as long as you live on the edge of town, goats & chickens aren't a problem. You wouldn't want to have them in a trailer park tho. I.S. is landlocked with Air Force or B.L.M. property all around so can't get any larger property-wise. I grew up there.
