I propose if you don't like to partake don't visit prostitutes. When people stop shopping for sex the business will end on its own. Not sure if it will have an effect or not but I did read in the Los Angeles times that many housewives were turning to the business to make ends meet. I guess that sounds funny now doesn't it? Anyone get the joke? some of those women were taking second jobs in Nevada. Others were just staying home to take care of business. I would guess that if more housewives or even single women decided to work part time as prostitutes to make some extra money they many people would not need to drive to Nevada for a little recreational sex. What do you all think?

Brothel ads on cabs?? lol! Were they explicit? Anyway..government intrusion is not the hallmark of a free society. And your promotion of 'family values' with women in total control will just push more and more guys to other side.

Not to politicize the thread, but this is some proof that our party distinctions are basically meaningless.

/end

As the rest of the developed world marches on, we're trying to drag ourselves back to a moral heyday of the past that never was...and by logical extension...never could be again.

In Senator Harry Reid's autobiography, he describes how he and his brother grew up in the small mining-town of Searchlight, NV, where his father was an itinerant miner, and they lived in a shack made out of salvaged materials. He said at the time, Searchlight had 13 whorehourses, but not a single church of any kind. He said his father eventually committed suicide, and Harry had to go away and board in Henderson in order to attend high school.

It was a stupid speech and a stupid idea, but he does protect a lot of Nevada's interests, so I don't really hold it against him. (Since he can't influence directly in-state politics anyway.)

Interests he does protect: the health of the United States public, the casino industry, the mining industry, seniors and social security, Yucca Mountain, lots of stuff, look at his webpage.

(Maybe I'm odd for not seeing Harry Reid as evil or bumbling, but as decent?)

To bad that they don not give drug testing to our senators. Sen. Ried should know that cathouses pay a lot taxes in the lower populated counties, that help with fire, police, and medical emergencies.

got that right and Dennis Hof and his girls have a lot of charity events to help locals for schools, animals etc. IF you go to the carson cit library he has donated a lot of money from the bunny ranch to the library.

Years n years ago, some dogooders decided they were going to end EVIL prostitution in Nevada....The cheif opponite of this was a Preacher from tonopah.....he had the foresite to realize that this was killing the fatted calf.

Beverly Harrell [Madam of the cottontail Ranch] wrote three checks every fall....One was made out to the School System in the 3 county area served by her Ranch. #2 was made payable to the Boy Scouts of America, #3 was made payable to the Girl Scouts of America.

Each of the three were similar in that, they did NOT have an amount filled in.

3 BLANK CHECKS to fully fund the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts and the School athletic programs for a 3 county area....

When she decided to run for State Assembly, she lost by ONE VOTE.....and refused a recount because "That would bring more negative publicity to a State that gets more then their fair share."
