Given the right circumstances we're all capable of just about anything. I have no inclination whatsoever to hurt anyone but I know that I'm not infallible. If you prefer to think that you are, go right ahead. Life is constantly changing my friend. It's quite easy to look through a perspective when everything is comfortable and loving. Take anyone anywhere and they will break given the right amount of pressure. How they will break is the question.
You have NO idea what I've been through in my life. I know - from experience - that I wouldn't hurt my family when pushed to the breaking point.
Like I said, if you think that you're capable of that, then it means that you've already been thinking about it. Please seek professional help - before you hurt someone.
I see absolutely NO reason to ban guns on college campuses...I know from experience that there are NEVER any beer bong parties in the dorms and no one EVER does drugs
And nobody in the military drinks or does drugs, either. Thank goodness, too, because those guys are issued automatic weapons! Think of the carnage that a bunch of college age military kids would cause if they actually partook of the drink!
everybody is missinig the point.......PERSONALY I think it should be open carry wiht no such thing as concealed weapons permits...I was addressing the irony of Allowing Guns and banning smoking......DAMN I do wish theyd get that sarcasim Icon fixed...

You're really missing the point here. I'm not claiming I know anything about your life or that you personally would do anything like that. The original quote you picked out of my post was when I was referring to how people we don't think of as "criminals" snap and kill people. In other words, getting a piece of paper verifying you as worthy to hold a gun doesn't mean all that much.
Please, continue to feel superior some more if that helps you. I don't think about or consider hurting anyone. I do however realize that nobody including myself knows exactly how they will react given the wrong circumstances and the correct amount of pressure. I'm also not suggesting that everyone's first reaction would be to hurt their family. It has happened many more times than people would like to admit though. In the end it's just one example out of many in regards to how people respond when they snap. I don't spend any time whatsoever thinking about hurting people despite your assumption that I'm a lunatic just waiting to kill people. A bit ironic for for a guy getting riled up about supposed assumptions made on my part don't you think?

I "suppose" that I just imagined all those things you wrote...
If you believe that you're capable of hurting your family, then please don't buy a gun. If you have any, I "suppose" you should sell them now. We don't want anyone that believes that they're capable of killing the ones they love owning any - it gives the rest of us a bad name when they actually do it.
This will be my last post on this tangent. It's off the topic, and there's no point in continuing with it.
Dyn started off this thread with that comment, but I don't think anyone has really tried to help him so far with his state of confusion.
Don't worry Dyn. There's nothing to be confused about. It's meant as a solution to the enforcement problem. The campus Antismokers can just shoot the smokers. It won't be anything new: a few years ago a guy shot a pregnant woman in a parking lot because she refused to put out her smoke. Heck, just last week a medical doctor walked up to to a smoker in a parking garage who was smoking near the doc's parked car and grabbed his cigarette away from him and then tried to run him over!
The NV legislature is just trying to make the system more efficient and exciting for everyone!
Great post. If it wasn't true it would be funny.
The country is going to hell in a hand basket and they are busy trying to put their names on these type laws instead of dealing with the real issues.
At this point I almost have to wonder if the government has worked us up into more of a frenzy about dying from the smoker standing outside the door puffing away or the guy that carries a gun for self preservation.
One way or another...they will take both rights away at some point.
There are so few rights already in the States. Going to class and bringing a gun with me, seems like an exceptional right. Always nice to have in case you feel a need to pop the teacher.
I have a lot more issues with the enormous amount or rights already lost in the States. Entrepreneurism and small businesses. So legislated you have to rent a building in a select business district, but in a very specific manner. They call it 'zoning', and the entire country is zoned up with enormous restrictions. It absolutely destroys free market and entrepreneurism.
Than there are a gazillion traffic law restrictions. Break any one of them, and you get large fees, and than risk losing your license. Not so free there.
While this doesn't effect Las Vegas. But most of the country, you cannot go to the beach, drink a beer and watch a sunset. We lost that right. You can do it almost anywhere else in the world though outside of the Middle East. Here in Japan, or when I lived in South Korea, I could drink a beer on the subway or train after work if I want. Those rights are gone in the States. If you are 20, you don't have the right to even drink in a public zoned confined 'drinking area' called a bar or disco with the rest of the public. No rights to even do that?
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with those rights being taken away from us. I'm sure there are many who would argue for those rights to be gone. I'm just saying that there are many other rights we don't have already.
So, with so few rights as it is....I never understand the 'this is a free country' statements. I also don't understand why gaining the right to bring a gun to your biology class, is so much more important than all the other rights that seem more detrimental to me, but already taken away?
I seriously think this country needs to have another revolution and just throw all these people out of office.
Any number of intelligent people in the Middle East, with family members here, will agree with you. And any number of people in Argentina or Bolivia, have been thinking for decades: What's taking so long? And our Founding Fathers mumble from their graves: What, what, what are you waiting for!!!
