Nice town, but homes are expensive. Nice downtown as far as really small towns go. Lots of fun, small town events there, such as Art in The Park plus a smaller art event, and Chautauquas, etc. About five miles too far to commute to Las Vegas for work, IMO, but many of them do. But, on the other hand it might be five miles too close for some people.

Historic Boulder Dam Hotel located in Old Town Boulder City, Nevada.

Boulder Theatre in Boulder City

Nice place. Grew up in East Vegas and always had Pipe dreams of my folks moving us out there. Probably as nice as Nevada gets IMO.

I have been to that way a few times its a nice area but the cops will pull you over for 1 mile per hour over the speed limit and I would not even try to use a hands free cell device while going through the town cause they will pull you over for anything....

cops are really bored there.

depends on the lifestyle your looking for. lived there for 10 years and really grew to love it. great for raising a family in nevada. small town living with big city amenities minutes away. worth the 30 percent mark up. parents are very involved in the schools. miss it terribly.

Agree with "as nice as NV gets" and the complaints about the traffic.

There also are no casinos within the city limits (although the Hacienda and Railroad Pass are close), which is one of the reasons some people move there. It certainly doesn't feel like Las Vegas there. It's a bit isolated - but again, that's a plus, not a minus, to some.
