Question Pahrump - Horse on property laws

Hello all,

I found a house with some land (1 to 2 acres) in the Pahrump area and I'm trying to find out, just how much land does one need to own to keep 1 horse on the property? I can't seem to find much on this subject. Any help or links will be much appreciated!

I am always sad to see just one horse on a property. Don't you know they are social animals and have a strong instinct to belong to a herd? At least be kind to this lonely creature and provide some sort of shelter from the brutal desert sun.

Search chapter 6 of the Pahrump Regional Code for livestock. Sets a half acre minimum. No other restriction.

You're not thinking of running a stud farm, are you? The mares on the ranch seem to get more than their fair share of studs, already.

I'll agree with Olecapt. Refer to Nye County ordinance 6.20.030 that can be referred to here:

Nye County, Nevada County Code

Yes I am well aware that -most- horses are social herd animals. Mine on the other hand likes it better when she is the only one. She is never with the herd while I have owned her for the past year and a half. Also yes she will have shelter, as that is a must.

I have one horse. She is a mutt horse and should never be bred. She won't be bred in my possession.
