Default Looking for historical info on Humboldt County

I've looked on the internet and have come up empty-handed, so I hope someone out there can help me.

I'm trying to locate someone who has historical information on railroads in Humboldt County. I've looking for older, abandoned tracklines in other parts of the county than the current route (which roughly parallels I-80) I've looked for an email address for the library, and also for a historical society, but no luck. If someone could contact the county library (whose website is down or non-existant) and have them contact me, or have someone who is an amateur historian contact me, I'd appreciate it. To make it easy, here's my email address: tsteinhorst@hotmail.com. If they could put "Humboldt County" or "Winnemucca" in the title of the email, I'll be more likely to open it, and not mictake if for "junk emails".

Humboldt County Railroads; an easy answer to your question. There were no other railroads in Humboldt county aside from the UP and the WP which branches west of Winnemucca. Just east,, Lander County did have a Railroad which ran from Battle Mountain to Austin

There were no other rail or spur lines in Humboldt county - only the the SP and Western Pacific lines running east-west. At Palisade in Eureka county (just west of Carlin), there was a line that branched off from the SP line and went south the Eureka. The rails were removed in the 1930's, but at Palisade, there are remains of a wooden bridge that crossed the Humboldt River. Topo maps show where the tracks were.
