One might also consider checking with the various real estate brokers in Pahrump to see if they have anything

Thanks Olecapt. Where going to visit again after Labour day, we can check Real Estate Listings while where there. We'll also try and get talking to some good old fashioned red necks "LOL"!!!

It is an interesting place. Kind of ruralish Nevada liberterian crossed with California retiree and salted with a set of those who can no longer afford Las Vegas and a few that can't stand Las Vegas. Some of the old cowboys who used to live in the NW have gone there for a little land that ain't worth 600K an acre. Hard to have a riding rink when you know it is worth a million bills .

My husband and I are thinking of moving to Pahrump. Does anyone live there but work in Las Vegas? I know it is about 1 hour away, but with the low cost of living there, it seems like it might be worth the drive. And I have found alot of jobs in Las Vegas that pay very well, but no housing we could afford. Any input would be helpful.

Default pahrump

I live in Artesia (VERY south side of Pahrump) It's nice quite and seems very safe. no trailers or anything like that. It's only 45 min from vegas. I lived in vegas 7 years. Now in Pahrump fro 8 mo. I almost can't stand going to vegas any more other than to party ever once in a while.

That is OK. Las Vegas can only stand you once in a while..

More like an hour unless it is the rush hour when it is an hour and a half.

Someone found this to be rude. I would suggest that anyone who really believes that should cease reading these lists. That was an appropriate remark in response to a similar remark.

I lived in Pahrump for a couple of years.. I liked the place. But that was 8 years ago, and I hear it's changed quite a bit since then. It was handy to be away from Vegas, but an hours drive away made it conventiently close.
