Suggestion: read the article upside down and turn those frowns...into smiles!

Why are people so unhappy living there? The article only lists the cities affected but doesn't fully explain why such sadness. I think articles like that are silly and I don't pay much attention to them. Personally, I think the people who write articles like this are unhappy themselves and are only looking to spread more of their gloom.

Default Las Vegas Will Be A Happier Place

When I'm living there! No, I'm not that conceited.

Looking for friends near my age that don't smoke and are not into the bar scene.

I was born in SoCal and lived there until my family moved in the Reno/Sparks area when I was 7. I'd move back in a heartbeat.

very interesting since reno, tahoe ... and the entire eastern sierras from bishop to reno ... especially near mammoth lakes ... are among the most beautiful areas in the western US ...it's all John Muir (the famous naturalist of the 1800's) country

I love the eastern sierra, also really like lake meade, palm springs and joshua tree, san luis obispo area, marin county, and the siskiyous.

Then they should move.

I bet it's those Californians who couldn't afford to live there anymore so they packed up and came here. Then, they realize Nevada is not as great like Cali.

Any City can be sad or happy. It how the individual conducts their life. I can understand at the moment there are a lot of people who have lost their jobs and we also have a lot of forclosure and short sales. Other then that. Reno / Tahoe / Carson are all very safe, happy, beautiful places to hang your hat.

I'm considering NEVADA but would prefer CALIFORNIA - it is only a matter of time, perhaps 5 to 10 years, before californians - and oregonians - start migrating again in large numbers to reno and vegas, due to fiscal issues, cost of living, etc. this will benefit the
