Health care kind of sucks all over i think. Not better in Nevada.
Mesquite stays hot most of the year. Boulder city is like Mayberry Rfd. Good luck finding a place there. It will be old and tiny.
Sparks is a nice little place, and it gets colder up there than down here in Vegas. Fallon is up yonder, wont stay hot year round there.
If you want it really hot, try Phoenix,AZ.

Well, I work in healthcare, and to be honest, it sucks. Nv has the lowest per capita of specialists and the biggest shortage of nurses in the country. At my hospital we have a hard time even getting in travel nurses, let alone permanent staff. Ive not been too impressed with the quality of care in the LV area hospitals. Reno seems much better, but most of the patients we refferer out of town where I live, we have them go to Salt Lake City. The quality and avalibility of care is much better there then anywhere I've seen in NV.

At the risk of getting annihillated for comparing California to Nevada, I have to say Nevada heathcare is absolutely horrible. Our family owns a small business. We make $80,000K per year and we have trouble affording heath insurance for our family, especially if you have ANY preexisting conditions. We are young too. mid-30's and reletively healthy. However, just having psoriasis made my heath care cost about $700 per month for a family of four. We paid $400 per month in California, and no, that doesn't mean I SHOULD GO BACK, it is just a fact. Also, not as many hospitals and other facilities. What you pay extra on things like that though, you make up for in the money you save on things like state and property taxes. No state tax, and property tax of at $350,000 home is $1,500 per year!!! That, California can't beat!!!

Well, I've got a bit of a different take on it. Although I agree that in general, the health care here (Las Vegas area) sucks, there are some good specialists. As for hospitals, UMC gets good marks as does Sunrise. Valley is terrible and I've heard bad things about Summerlin Hospital. You really have to do your homework in finding good doctors, but they are out there. The problem is that they may not be in your health care network and then you will pay bigtime.
