My goodness, do you not realize how many women is going to get the help for breast cancer, they can get treatment. Mothers, Grandmothers, Sisters, Neices, Aunts. Then the men who can get help with prostate cancer. So many fools in america and the only people who dont want this plan are those who can not make money off the people and let them die.

But no its always the opposite, I read it and it will help they do it in Canada. This plan is not for the wealth its for the middle and down and Corp does not want this, can't make money.

Obviously you've never been on a waiting list for medical care in Canada. Making things 'free' to those who cannot afford it will lead to abuse. Every stubbed toe, every single whining moron will fill hospitals to capacity. Nobody will want to enter into the field because the Government regulation will not allow doctors to treat people correctly. People will be forced to go to veterinarians for routine tests (as they already do in Canada).

Legislation cannot change the facts, what passes for 'health insurance' in this country is already a joke. It's pre-paid medical and makes as much sense as the scam pre-paid legal services that people are always selling to suckers.

Enjoy the mess.

Well, no, but I have, right here in the good ole US of A, VA. Now read the following
Quote:
Myth: There are long waits for care, which compromise access to care. There are no waits for urgent or primary care in Canada. There are reasonable waits for most specialists' care, and much longer waits for elective surgery. Yes, there are those instances where a patient can wait up to a month for radiation therapy for breast cancer or prostate cancer, for example. However, the wait has nothing to do with money per se, but everything to do with the lack of radiation therapists. Despite such waits, however, it is noteworthy that Canada boasts lower incident and mortality rates than the U.S. for all cancers combined, according to the U.S. Cancer Statistics Working Group and the Canadian Cancer Society. Moreover, fewer Canadians (11.3 percent) than Americans (14.4 percent) admit unmet health care needs.

Making things 'free' to those who cannot afford it will lead to abuse. Why do you think that will be different than today, when everyone who goes to an ER gets care? I think you have an unsubtantiatable claim.

Every stubbed toe, every single whining moron will fill hospitals to capacity. See above.

Nobody will want to enter into the field because the Government regulation will not allow doctors to treat people correctly.

We have had medicare and VA for many decades without the problem you claim. The private insurers will still insure, and will still make boatloads of money.

People will be forced to go to veterinarians for routine tests (as they already do in Canada). This appears to be an unsupportable rightwingnut fable.

I have already signed the petition for my own state. I can't believe how many people are so misinformed.

It's almost like Obama's inaugration night when people thought he would be buying them gas and paying their mortgage. I guess some people are so desperate they will believe anything.

Social Security is going broke, Medicaid is going broke, but now we'll borrow money from Medicaid to insure everyone and no one has to pay for it. How did people get so gullible?

If this isn't stopped we will no longer have a Middle Class.

Is there a central clearing house where the Conservatives pick up their complaining talking points? They all say the same darn thing, mostly, completely fabricated.

They take a kernel of truth and expand it out into an entire cornfield.

You have oxymoronic comments:
So you say he's NOT buying gas and paying mortgages as his opponents accuse.
Social services ARE going broke. How can we borrow money from Medicaid if it is broken? How are the lower and middle class citizens supposed to pay for care if they are priced out and excluded for the benefit of the rich?
The point is there is no middle class to break the backs of as all of our jobs are being outsourced, eliminated or absorbed, again at the benefit of the haves vs. the have nots.

I saw the funniest cartoon today. A husband and wife were complaining about the USA as they clutched their suitcases and were taking their Medicare and social security benefits to retire to a foreign country. Which by the way most places retires go have socialized medicine.

I think the Democrats have done a poor job of explaining what is actually in the Affordable Care Act. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll showed that most Americans oppose Obama's healthcare reform even though they strongly support most of its provisions. For instance:
  • Eighty percent of Republicans favor “creating an insurance pool where small businesses and uninsured have access to insurance exchanges to take advantage of large group pricing benefits.” That’s backed by 75 percent of independents.
  • Fifty two percent of Republicans favor “allowing children to stay on parents insurance until age 26.” That’s backed by 69 percent of independents.
  • Seventy eight percent of Republicans support “banning insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions; 86 percent of Republicans favor “banning insurance companies from cancelling policies because a person becomes ill.” Those are backed by 82 percent of independents and 87 percent of independents respectively.

Interestingly, much of what is in ObamaCare--- including the dreaded mandate--- were originally Republican ideas that went back much further than Romney's Massachusetts plan. In 1989, Stuart Butler of the very conservative Heritage Foundation wrote:

Quote:
If a man is struck down by a heart attack in the street, Americans will care for him whether or not he has insurance. If we find that he has spent his money on other things rather than insurance, we may be angry but we will not deny him services—even if that means more prudent citizens end up paying the tab…. A mandate on households certainly would force those with adequate means to obtain insurance protection, which would end the problem of middle-class “free riders” on society’s sense of obligation.
End story: Most people, especially Conservatives, are sadly misinformed on the Affordable Care Act. Far from being "Socialism", it gives private insurance companies millions of new customers. To make it easier for everyone to find out all about it (just the facts, ma'am), here is a simplified timeline that lays everything out. Timeline of the Affordable Care Act | HealthCare.gov

Somehow I doubt that most Obama/ObamaCare haters will take the time to really look at it and digest it. But then, many of them believe humans and dinosaurs coexisted, too.
