Default Snowbirding to Pahrump

We are canadians thinking of buying a property in pahrump and living there from oct/nov to apr/may. We own a piece of desert which we bought years and years ago when Calvada was doing there big push/sale. Are there any other snowbirds out there that live there partime and if so do you have any suggestions? Anybody else want to put their two-bits worth in are welcome.

I don't live there but I know there's a large snowbird population. You should stay there for a winter and then make up your mind about buying. Pahrump is becoming almost cosmopolitan these days. Lots of new stores etc.

New Retiree is on a distinguished road
I bought a parcel of land (zoned for mobile/manufactured homes) earlier this year in Pahrump. I was planning on retiring there but unfortunately my land doesn't have utilities on or near it. I am just holding on to it as investment property. These are just my thoughts on Pahrump.

we built 4 houses in pahrump this year, 3 were in calvada on 1/2 acres. the power, water and sewer/and or septic prices are all over the board, water is the most exp., it ranges from $900 to $100,000+/- if your lot is far from water. some acre lots can use wells. you should contact "Utilites inc. of Central Nevada" for water and sewer cost. some 1/2 acre lots use septic, some use sewer. Power is usually(not always) near most lots. but you would need to contact "Valley Electric" for a quote (they charge $125 to give you your cost)
