People in Laughlin shop in Bullhead City and people not working in Casinos in Laughlin work in Bullhead City. Also in Bullhead people not working in Bullhead are working the casinos. Just putting Bullhead City and maybe even the Entire Mohave county would be a win win for everyone.

Better yet let Laughlin leave your left leaning anti-business state that represses our local economy by Vegas blocking new casinos, and now charging Bullhead businesses (like your plumber) $150 a year to drive over the bridge to Laughin - and join us in Free America where the right to bear arms has not been infringed. Yet.

Why is it a win-win situation? Because people living in Bullhead would have no state income tax? I'm not sure I'm understanding why Mohave County would want to become part of Nevada.

I have to admit, it is an interesting concept and has been "discussed" (I don't think anything seriously was considered) especially in northern Mohave county where the smaller towns of Beaver Dam, Littlefield, and Scenic (or what is referred to as the "Arizona Strip," an isolated strip of land in northwest corner of Arizona ) are essentially part of the Mesquite Nevada "metropolitan" (lol) area.

Those towns are in the jurisdiction of the Mohave County Sheriff which sometimes doesn't have the best emergency response times. Many services have to be coordinated from Kingman almost 200 miles and 3-hours away . To travel from the county seat in Kingman to Beaver Dam, one has to go through Las Vegas. But almost being part of Mesquite, it would seem logical for the city of Mesquite to service the area.

However, we know that the entire county of Mohave will never be annexed to Nevada. I don't think even the isolated "Arizona Strip" part of Mohave county would ever be annexed to Nevada either although that would make more sense than Bullhead being part of Nevada, in my opinion.

As far as Laughlin and Bullhead are concerned, it's even less of an argument. There are many cities and towns that are "twin cities" in different states that complement each other and exist without turmoil.

I was just thinking how funny a situation it would create if Oregon insisted that Vancouver Washington be part of Oregon since it is essentially a suburb of Portland.

Interesting concept you've brought up, however.

Yes, I agree with you. The ONLY time that states have exchanged territory came as a result of war - the Battle of Toledo where Ohio took disputed land from Michigan, and the succession of the western portion of Virginia to form West Virginia.

(By the way, do you think that the governor of Michigan is calling the governor of Ohio offering him Detroit??)
