GBG, that link in your post is not a link to a photo. It's to a google email login page.

This computer stuff is alchemy sometimes. Is there anyway to post a photo direct from my computer, that is, not on a website?

Hey greatbasin, if you want to email me the pic, I'll toss it into a folder on my website and send you the link back. I'll name your folder "greatbasinguide" if you like. You can then use the link to post the pic anywhere.
If you want to do it, DM me and then I'll drop you an email address where you can send the photo. Just attach it to the email you send back to me, if you choose to do it, and I'll have it available for linking within a few minutes of opening your email.

Yes there is. Follow the second set of directions in the post I have in the FAQ section. Or you can take garth up on his offer.
This link, though, might come in handy if you want to post photos inside your posts in the future.
Click on this link to take you to the post mentioned.

Ok, this is following Scirocco's instructions. This is a 30 acre farm 4 miles from the ocean. A great place although too close to town, but it is a good place to slide into my dotage.
There is an assumption that California is crowded, it is, along the major roadways, east of us is an area I call California's Nevada. Dry hills that stretch to I5 with few people. The new Carrizo Plains National Monument lies out there, sufficient room to get lost in.

Great photo, GBG! If you'd like it to appear in full size instead of a thumbnail, just click on it so it will be enlarged. Then use the URL assigned to paste into the IMG box (or enclose the URL with IMG tags).
I'll do it below so you can see how it turns out.

Thanks guys, I wanted to post the picture in order to show what it takes to drag me away from my favorite place on the planet, the Great Basin.
We will keep our various land parcels in Nevada to use as base camps during the summer to wander about.
We are in Truckee today, it is 32 outside at 6:00 in the evening. 60 right now in the town where we are moving to.
I may put together SUV trips in Nevada for those who like exploring the state. I used to do this for my students. Parents would drive, bring camping gear and we would wander around great places to visit. We would likely base out of Kingston for those trips.
