I can pick people up in LA and people from LA can pick up here. I saw a few cali plates this weekend doing lyft. I want to go to the beach in the next few weeks. While I am there I cam going to drive a couple hours to see how it goes.

I despise the uber driver app. It angers me greatly.

I've never tried but all the uber Facebook forums say otherwise.

Interesting. I guess that is due to different jurisdictional business licensing requirements etc. Thanks for the info. I suppose it would suck to get popped for operating without the proper permits and licensing.

I was able to run the app in LA. I didn't try to pick anyone up because I wasn't in my car. I'll test it out in a couple weeks and let you know.

Just be aware that you may be opening up a whole new can of worms. CA is broke and will want their share of your earnings. If Uber/Lyft reports earnings in CA to the IRS, the CA Franchise Tax Board will know about it too. Being a NV resident, you can expect some extra scrutiny, even if what they collect in the end is minimal. It's just how they are. I'm not saying don't do it, just do your homework before accepting that first ride. Something to think about....

I'm considering moving there, so I might end up paying the taxes and fees there anyway.
The construction world in Vegas is no bueno. Only friends and in laws working right now. If you're not in the inner circle you don't work until there's plenty of work.
La is booming right now, so I am guaranteed a job over there. But since it is so expensive I will definitely have to supplement my income with uber/lyft if I want anywhere near the quality of life I currently have.
I also might rent a room and work over there on the week days and come home on the weekends. Not sure. But either way, I need to know.

EA,

Have you ever thought about/tried dealer school? Construction is always hit or miss, boom or bust.
