I'm curious to visit Elko. I haven't been that far north in Nevada. In about 1.5 years I want to relocate to another part of NV, (live in DAyton currently and it's become very influenced by CA). What is the art community like in Elko?

My family and I are from Bakersfield, California. We moved to Elko five years ago. "WE LOVE IT HERE" what a breath of fresh air. We will never live in California again. I dread going back to "Cali" when we visit family and friend. Not because of them, but because of the rat race!!! The summers are mild and yes the winters can be cold. Just bundle up and enjoy the beauty of nature. We have since moved to Spring Creek, Nevada which is just outside of Elko. We have moved just five miles from the Ruby mountains. If you jump off Interstate 80 and explore our back country here you will see much more than sage brush, fast food and casino!!!
