You never really know. He was gung ho a week before giving up. Note though they were taking on a 300,000 fix up on a million dollar property. And there were unknowns. For instance the lower level had obviously been flooded. How did that happen? We found out later but at the time it was a concern.

We thought he was hooked by the garage. He had a collection of 50 vehicles spread all over the place and here was a garage that could hold them.

I liked the lazy river. One reason we hoped to get him into it is we were hoping to act as his caretaker for free. Figured we would have a good time with a neighborhood water park in return for keeping the place working. Suspected they would seldom be in residence.

The house next door is not an issue. The way the place works it is not a factor. The house next door is at the road level when the large part of the property is 25 feet below the road. Mostly you cannot even see the house next door from the lower property.

The only thing the new owner did not fix is the observation deck. Really good strip view. But the only access is through a pull down ladder in a utility room off the kitchen. Needs an elevator. There is also problems getting from the living area to the main house garage. Again fixable by an elevator.

I have never really looked but I suspect the back part of the property could be developed or used for a couple of guests houses.

Another odd thing is the property has both city water and a private well. That should have been impossible in the time frame in which it was built but they did it.

I used to know the people that owned that home. It was their family home but the husband has since passed away and the kids are all grown and married with their own families. Probably why it is being sold.
