Just an open-air campground for starter, and I know a marketing firm in San Francisco, CA to attract hippies and their RVs to settle in Big Smoky Valley, and maybe they'll work for free and build a new city I found with free housing for their own after preliminary built.

We'll see what happens in next 20 years, depending on current political climate, and whether or not we are really transitioning into progressive socialism. Everything is in very-early stage in my planning, and don't think too much about this thread anymore.

There's currently heavy rainstorm and flood going on in New York City right now, but none in Kingston, NV. Natural disaster data says New York, NY is 1,472 times more dangerous than Kingston, NV.

Add the obvious third item to your set...

Now why Kingston?

Are you putting up your own money for this? If so, good luck. But a few things to think about. Water? Can you build enough wells deep enough to supply however many people you think will live here? Electricity? Is there sufficient transmission lines to bring the power you need up there? 69kv transmission costs about $285k/mile to build overhead, and up to $1.5mil/mile underground. With the mine in Round Mountain, there may be some of that in place, but you're gonna need a substation plus be able to supply all the facilities you plan on bringing in with electrical power, so lines, poles, ect. For air travel, you're completly surrounded on the south with restricted airspace (from Creech, Nellis bombing range, Nevada test site, all the other places we ain't supposed to know about) and on the west from Fallon NAS and bombing range, leaving a small corridor to the north for air traffic. Oh, and you're gonna have to expand the 3700' paved runway if you expect to get international traffic, not to mention getting ATC set up. And the internet bandwidth that your Chinese customers will crave to share their photos and videos? You have two choices, microwave backhaul to cell sites, which in no way will be able to handle the traffic from thousands of users, or fiber optic cable. You're in luck, AT&T has fiber running along US50, bringing it down will only cost about $12k/mile, thats just the cable, not including the terminations, drops, amps, ect. So, you got about $2 billion or so laying around? Don't forget the licensing for buildings, ect, and for the gaming commission to grant you a license as well. What happens if someone gets hurt or sick? Closest hospital would be in Fallon, there's not one in Tonopah anymore.

Do you expect public money to pay for your Chinese wonderland? Good luck with that. Do you know how many other casinos in the state are financed by public money? Zero. And that wont change. And if someone in government even mentioned the idea, every other gaming licensee in the state would a. oppose it without question and/or b. demand their share. It a state thats near last in spending for education, where is all this magic money coming from?

He already said he's going to invest billions of dollars. I wonder though, with that much money, couldn't you just buy out nyse:hhc and build out the rest of summerlin to your liking? Is he afraid of competition from the strip?

Yes, with a friend in China who has over a billion dollar net worth, but I would need to submit a sustainable proposal first, and alert him it has the #1 lowest-risk of natural disaster in entire whole United States. This is a win for both China and United States together, uniting safety and peace.

This is 50-year development progress, so don't take too seriously with this thread yet.

This is truly entertaining. I work in the gaming industry and see lots of stupid proposals. This one tops all but a few. It's up there with that con man Milam who proposed a sports park in Vegas with 4 stadiums and arenas and dozens of practice fields, with no proof of any interest from a client who could fill it.

Yup Stupak class. Then again he pulled a couple off.

OP should carefully review Coyote Springs. That one is particularly interesting for a couple of reasons. Particularly the recent decision by the State Engineer to refuse any water additions. That is particularly sad because the original developer sold enough water rights to develop the place to SNWA. So we have a golf course and nothing...and going to remain nothing.

Now if OP can solve the water puzzle he could simply buy Coyote Springs for very little...A lot more viable than a place in the distant north end of the state. And with equivalent disaster numbers.
