Default Young family town in Nevada?

Our family is looking to relocate from Southern California to possibly Nevada. Any suggestions for a family with young kids (ages 8 and 4). We really want good schools and decent home prices. My husband is a plumber and sometimes must work outdoors, so perhaps being completely buried in the snow would not be good, though we are looking for a little snow. I work at home and can take my job with me........

Any suggestions........

If you would like some snow you might want to check out the Reno or Carson City area. They get snow there. It's very pretty there too, beautiful mountains and it seems family oriented.

Significantly more expensive than Las Vegas.

Probability would be in the rural suburbs of Reno or of Las Vegas. Watch the schools though.

Get the cheap housing in the rural counties...but schools may be a problem.

Well my girlfriends family lives in winnemucca and it gets a little snow their. Its about 100 miles south of the oregon boarder and i have herd that its a wonderful place to raise a family. In fact im moveing their in feb to work in the mines their. 3 hours north east of reno and 5 hours north east od lake tahoe which i herd is beautiful and fun. so not to far away but yet calm and quite. So it may not be the place for a plumber, probley not that much work but hey check out the mines their they start out at almost double what a plumber makes and they r looking for people w no experience.
