Default Medical Care in NV
I am wondering if anyone has in the past or is currently getting good medical care in this state? My Autistic son has a variety of problems yet the local pediatricians in Carson are totally incompetent. Trying to even get an appointment is insane (even after sitting in the ER all weekend). Nurses are emotionless, disconnected and rude. Doctors are egotistical and full of themselves. I did not experience this stuff to this degree when living in CA - although I can not ever imagine moving back to CA. We live in Northern Nevada but I would be interested in hearing about good medical care that anyone has had in any part of this state.

Care for a special needs child is lacking in Nevada - and I would have to imagine that in a city the size of Carson City, it would be SERIOUSLY lacking.

May I suggest that contacting the Autism Society of America for advice might be in order?

So, I'm mainly complaining about Carson City medical services and Dayton. Dayton has a couple clinics - but no pediatricians or really any doctor that has much experience with kids. We also tried to find a local dentist in Dayton - office staff was short and chirpy. Most places want $250. to almost $300.00 just to be seen at a dentist for a cleaning. They said xrays are mandatory - even though I expressly said that my kids and I are not having any dental issues - just need a basic cleaning.

And yes, I did try Autism So. Support groups, doctors, specialists...etc. for Autism is almost non existant in this state. I contacted FEAT also and even they said there "might" be some better options in Reno - 1 hour away. But they never gave me any specifics.

Also - I found out Dayton has the maximum amount of Arsenic levels in the drinking water. Stagecoach is even worse. Leaving this place is looking better and better.
