im off to winnemucca nv
well the time has come, i am off to winnemucca nv on the 8th of feb . I have never moved away from my home town but ill be moveing from 9.29 per hr to about 20.00 or so per hr. My only down fall is leaveing my 5 year old daughter behind as i just get visitation with her every other weekend , and she keeps begging me to stay but i think this is fr the best. I believe it will be a better lifestyle for the both of us. So for now i say farewell and i will keep everyone posted on how it goes.

be prepared
Be prepared for a bit of a shock. Winnemucca and Walla Walla, WA are quite different. Have you been to Winnemucca yet? Anyway, good luck.

I'm no fan of living in Winnemucca but two weeks isn't giving it much of a chance.

This could be taken as a warning, Actually living in Nevada is different. The small towns, the isolation, the landscape just doesn't work for some.

For what it's worth, Monk, I spent a few years in Walla Walla when I was a young man (graduated from WaHi and Whitman). Since have traveled to a great many US states and other countries (I am now 70+ years young)...and there are many, many worse places to be than "good ol walla walla". Good luck to you.

Shilo, I am a recent retiree and have also purchased improved land near Winnemucca with the plans of building a home. I have been in search of contractors for some time. Good luck. They don't seem to be to interested in individual projects.
