Actually rated the safest state in the US for natural disasters.

The dangerous tag comes off a silly study done yearly by MQ press. What it really says is that Nevada has a lot of stolen cars which MQ, contrary to the federal rules, considers a violent crime. On crime rates Vegas and Reno are middle of the pack.

So for natural disasters Nevada is the best. For crime in the middle. Not bad.

Lot of space cadets, but I would be thinking they are talking about illegal aliens. New Mexico would be where to find space aliens,

9. To overpriced
10. Nothing but casions everywhere. Even in chevrons!

Sorry to those who live in Nevada. I drove by on my way to visit family in Idaho, and I was not pleased with Nevada at all. I'm orginally from CA so yea maybe my expectations where a little high, but still Nevada did not please me at all. States like CA and Ohio are much better.
I am new here and just saw this. I know a little late but I have not read the rest of the post. I am from California and I was just in Winnemucca and let me tell you the people were nothing but kind to us, accepted us and just very friendly. VEry Helpful as we are thinking of moving there. I dont get this in California anymore to much and I was born and raised here. And for the heat, Hell wre from Calif was not much different that here in NOrhtern Calif. I miss Nevada and just the two days I was there, what a difference in the people and how they treat you. Now Yes California is a beautiful State but lacks in all others. I just cant afford to live here anymore. But I loved Nevada and it was mostly to the people I met and there kindness something I dont see anymore in Calif. Everyone is in too big of a hurry here.........THANK YOU NEVADA FOR MAKING ME FEEL SO WELCOMED

Winnemucca would be more friendly and likeable than most of Nevada. It's a small town.

That list fits Reno completely though. Live here for 7 years and FINALLY getting out of it. The people defending it either turn a blind eye to it, or are part of the problem (which would be why they get so angry at people for saying any bad things about Nevada.)

If you lead off with "hookers everywhere, dirty restrooms, mean and crooked people, bad schools and high crime" We presume you have some problem with Nevada and came here to insult us all for some personal reason. At that point it is often and reasonably suggested that you leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Sure Nevada has its problems. Schools are not good as they might be...we spend too little on education. We have a very high suicide rate...and it ain't losing tourists offing themselves. We have a high minority population the we have not yet assimilated. Nevadan are not overly friendly. They tend to mind their own business. But they are not hostile or mean. And, when you do penetrate the society they are much the same as elsewhere.

So if you want to come in and insult...expect to be shown the door. Want to discuss or learn? Someone will likely accomodate you.
