Nope...the place is tropical compared to a norther indoor climate. It may well get down to 10% in the PM but it is 30 % at night. Large temperature swings keep the relative livable a good part of the day.

Up your way it is humidifier or die. Here they help but not required.

your skin probably won't crack or bleed, never seen that here. Usually, I just have problems with bloody noses, dry skin, bad dandruff, dry hair, and just really bad allergies. My body still hasn't adjusted to the dry weather, and I've been living here for 10 years. I'm originally from NJ, where it is nice and humid and on the beach and everytime I visit, my body feels fine again. On the other hand, my brother and sister both were able to adjust, and never had problems like I'm having.

Thank you very much I appreciate your help, I know we are planning on getting a water filter and softner for our home down there was hoping that would help with dry skin but doesn't much sound like it, but is sounds as if it will be better than here.

When i go to a humid place and wash my hair, it feels like there is a film on it. Or it could be the softer water in that area. Who knows.
i also cannot stand to be icky and sticky..give me desert dry heat any day and lots of lotion.

Ohio is much better, green, lots of water, a good place for people who dislike adventure to live in.
I habe noticed through other people that when other people can't handle where they live, they won't care whether or not the state is nothing but desert. Casinos, mild winters(in LV anyway),cheaper living costs(in comparison to California anyway) are big attractions. Lake Tahoe is in Nevada. With all of those attractions, most people moving to Nevada won't care if nevada is mostly desert.

One should care if Nevada is Desert, that is what makes it a great state, miles of arid country to wander about in.

That's true. But Vegas is a big part of Nevada.
I personally like those smaller towns up in northern nevada. But not sure if i could handle the snow in the winter. Or be far away from a good health food store.
