Why do we leave cigarettes at 18, which I think are a lot more dangerous, but so many of you are so against lowering the gambling or drinking ages?
Sorry random you may think that but the facts dont support it....

When we had a music venue in the hotel that was open to 18+ whe sustained more damage EACH and EVERY week then we could bring in in revenues....it's not worth it...

Add to that the fact that as an 18 yr old you might.... MIGHT be able to blow a hundred...the presence of a large quantity of 18 yr olds will chase away the players that blow 10K....money talks BS walks

Sounds like a raging overload of testosterone that plugged-in music only ignited!

18 year olds- especially males- are still in the stupid phase of life. They cannot handle alcohol, gambling, sex or much of life. They can vote and should be able to vote (in fact I would lower that to 16 for some elections) and they can sign a contract for a car. But more serious stuff needs to wait. Most 18 year olds are not responsible with money. They will skip paying the rent to buy an Iphone. And the "they can join the military" argument has ZERO merit because in the military they are SUPERVISED by officers. I know because when I was 18 that is exactly what I did. And after my time in the USAF I was much more mature at age 24 to handle life and college.

If I owned a club, my age limit would even exceed that of the state. It would be 21 for women and 25 for men.

bad idea to lower the age to 18 yrs....Sad enough that so many senior citizens are in the red from gambling addiction......

Gambling Addiction has become a growing issue in NV alone and just the thought of letting a young person out of H.S and just entering College or the Job market and gaining a serious addiction and losing it all before they even know it will only make matters worse for our youth. Just like drinking most young'ins abuse the booze and the same will be with gambling.

I think a major reason for gambling addiction becoming a a growing issue is because of the growing population in Vegas. There are lots of folks there that were not born and raised in a gaming environment. Most of the folks that were know better.

grown up in a casino environment or not the issue is local ressys and tourists alike.

there is some sort of gambling in every state lotto, lotteries some people pay hundreds a week if not more with hopes of winning Gamblers Anonymous is thriving in every state with their own locals who have never been to a casino and gamble on line, lotteries or other methods.

your post is like saying if you didn't grow up in columbia you will not understand and how to control your usage of cocaine.
