Got a land question ....
I got some money to buy some land....maybe sometime in the next year or so.
what i am looking for is somewhere with stunning mountain views and good size chunk of land for not alot of cash. i dont mind being off the grid.
i know north of winnemucca there are big lots for sale for not alot of money.
i thought i might ask here if anyone likes the look of any particular place ... becuase for me ...its all about whats outside my door.
i like a simple western life.......i'm happy just shootin cans off my fence post... livin more like the 19th centrury than the 21st.
like the idea of being able to ride for days when i feel like it...building campfires eatin beans and sleepin under the stars.
any suggestions on what part of the state to look in would be most appreciated.
thanx

www.humboldtriverranch.com This area is about 20 miles from Lovelock and between Lovelock and Winnemucca. Rye Patch reservoir, on the Humboldt River, is nearby. I don't know much about this "subdivision" but I've heard there are CCRs (conditions, covenants & restrictions) on what you can do on your property. It's on the grid.
There is a HHR association www.humboldtriverranchassociation.com

Here's a satellite photo of the area. Drag your mouse to the boxed areas for info. Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world!
This "subdivision" has been here for 20 years and the streets have been laid out but there are few buildings in the area. Homesites haven't been selling - to remote for some people I guess. According to their website, they sell lots as big as 10 acres.

Check with local planning departments. There are a lot of land advertised on the internet cheap but they might have mineral rights owned by somebody else. Buyer beware. Always do a thorough search.

We own 10 acres north of Winnemucca about 20 miles in the Paradise Ranchos subdivision. Beautiful mountains, quiet and very inexpensive. We will retire there in about 2 years. YEahhhhhh
