Default Pahrump, Mesquite or Boulder City For Family w/13 Year Old???

Hi,
I've been looking into the above three towns for two years. Visited Pahrump twice, Mesquite and BC once. BC being the nicest but most expensive. We have a 13 year old daughter who is VERY much into dancing (goes to dance school 4 days a week). Pahrump is nice and wide open, but I worry about activities for kids there. Mesquite was nice as well, but don't know anything about kid activities there. If it was just me and the wife I'd pick Pahrump for the affordability and quiet. Can anyone add some input? Looking to spend up to $300,000 for a 4 bed, 2 bath house. I'm retired from NYC, so employment is not a big worry. Thanks.
Paul

Boulder city is probably the best out of those three in my opinion. The other 2 are farther away and less like a little town and more like a big trailer park.

Mesquite is definitely not like a "big trailer park" ...sorry, Kenny.

If you believe the kid can dance to the point of making a profession of it...Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Academy. Pretty much impractical from any of the three though you might be able to work Boulder City if you are willing to do a lot of kid driving or the kid is willing to spend three hours a day on busses.

Other than that Boulder City if you can afford it. Note you are probably talking twice Pahrump and a third more than Mesquite.

*heh* I agree to a certain extent about Pahrump.

However, he said "the other 2."

Don't be a snob. It is not particularly true of Pahrump either. Pahrump simply has a more laissez faire approach and does not worry about it. Pahrump does however have neighborhoods and estates as good as the best of Mesquite.

I own property in both places and I'm positive that, as a percentage, there are more trailers, modular/manufactured homes, and park models in Pahrump than Mesquite.

I'm not trying to be snobbish at all as I consider myself more in the "trailer park" group than the gated-country club group. Sure, there are gated communities in Pahrump, just not as many and nowhere near the number of highly rated golf courses. I'm not trying to argue that fact that Pahrump has upscale communities, we all know it does. And there's nothing wrong about having trailer parks or the folks who live in them. I have much in common with them.

There's a reason a CofC and local realty agents refer to Mesquite as the Palm Springs of NV and having as many "trailer parks" as Pahrump would not fit their image ...not that Mesquite will ever be another Palm Springs.
