All info on Mesquite
Hey guys. Been thinking about moving to Mesquite, I was wondering about some basics about the area...just want to get to know the place better. Any feedback is appreciated.

I hope you like baking in an oven at 450 degrees. Because that's what summer's feel like in Mesquite. lol
i know, ive been there many times in the hot hot summertime. (But it's a dry heat.. )

It's pretty amazing how much Mesquite has changed. It used to be just a small border town with a couple casinos. The first place you could gamble coming in on 15 from Utah. Just like Wendover and Jackpot. Now it's become it's own destination.

ah, PinkString, c'mon, it's not THAT bad! *laughs*
Sure, it's hot in the summer just like a lot of places in the desert SW but generally not as hot as Phoenix or Palm Springs, just to mention a few.
And you're right, yellowsnow, it's shocking how much the town has changed in the last 10 years, not to even mention the last 20!

Well I think the heat is an obvious issue, but we're okay with that. That's what AC is for. And it's good to know that...people become climatized. If someone has lived there for a while, they get used to it, as far as I know.

We love Mesquite. Instead of going to Las Vegas, we go there for the casinos. Nice town, very very nice businesses, all people are very nice, we have been there many times. It is a beautiful place. Very hot in summer, just there last summer and got married there at the Palmer golf course. Very HOT but everyone is right, its a dry heat, so much different. You will love it, as we do!

I'm the same way now. When it's in excess of 110 outside, and i'm out there, it just doesn't "feel" that hot anymore. And I am probably weird, but i like that baking feeling in the heat of the summer. Usually in the late afternoon is the best.

Last summer I was running around the yard, back and forth from the garage doing chores and what-not. When finished, I went back into the house to watch a little TV and there's a local station that displays weather info and as I was flipping by it said that the temperature was 116 degrees. I was laughing because it really didn't "feel" that hot. I'm originally from the Seattle area and I thought to myself that I'd be much more uncomfortable in Seattle at 85 degrees than I was at 115!

I lived in Las Vegas through 3 summers and I freaking loved it. Even though I am from Good Ole' West Virginia. HAHA. I had alot of fun in that area. I am needing to get back out there because The weather here makes me depressed Frankly. I think I am just meant to be in the desert if that makes any sense. I am VERY fair complected and the sun will burn the crap out of me after a few minutes.. BUT, I LOVE the actual heat. I always described it as feeling as though someone were blowing you in the face with a hair dryer. HAHA. But could you tell me if the weather is even hotter in Mesquite? Im not sure that I would want it to be HOTTER than Las Vegas. Vegas was about perfect for me. But, I would rather live in a bit of a smaller and less commercial area than Vegas. THANKS!
