Where not to buy in pahrump
Hello,
My husband and I are thinking of moving to Pahrump. We have been in snow country for 33 years and want some warm winters. I have been searching for homes online and have come across quite a few well actually a lot. Can anyone tell me where the homes are located that are having sinkage problems or neighborhoods to stay away from?
thanks so much,
Linda

It's in Nevada and about 70 miles from Las Vegas - I guess considered within commuting distance. My husband and I looked at the area a couple of years ago. It has it's own water which is a good thing. The houses looked pretty nice. It's not over developed.

where not to BUY in Pahrump
Thanks for responding... We did live in Palmdale, Ca for around 4 years so we know all about the hot summers. We don't plan on staying there for the summer only fall - spring..... do you know anything about where NOT to buy in Pahrump?
thanks,
Linda

Where not to buy in Pahrump-anywhere in Pahrump. If you are retiring, Mesquite or St. George would be a much nicer place.

Linda, I have live in Pahrump for 6 yrs. there is an area around Dandelion and Homestead that has had sinking problems. Just make sure you find a good builder or agent. There are some alot of good communities here.

I used to live in Pahrump, I was there for a couple of years when I was in my 20s (35 now). I liked it. I wonder how much it's changed? I was off of Barney and Basin (corner of Windsong and Barney). I liked the space. But yet close enough to Vegas for shopping and all that.

It is mostly an OK place. A little redneck but not enough to really bother anybody. Mesquite is farther up the economic scale and all that brings...but really no nicer than Pahrump. You just need to like it a little rural.
Don't sweat the water....you overdrill a 100 feet or so and are set for 50 years. The local builders and RE Agents know where not to buy. But mostly anywhere is pretty good.
