Default Minden/Gardnerville/Carson City

Hi,
Anyone have any information or can offer any assistance regarding these towns in Nevada: Minden/Garnerville/Carson City
My husband has a potential job offer in Zephyr Cove Nevada. We have 3 children. Two are school age (pre-K and second grade) , thus schools and good family environment are important to us.
We know nothing about the area and have never been to the area. Obviously we will see it in person prior to any decisions being made. It would however be helpful to have ay information possible about the best places to look at for relocation that would be within a manageable distance to Zephyr Cove.
Thank you

All three are within a manageable drive, but you're likely to encounter difficult road conditions in winter. All three cities are on the Nevada side, as is Zephyr Cove. You might also consider South Lake Tahoe on the California side, which is closer to Zephyr Cove than any of the cities you mentioned.

Good luck.

I moved from Arizona to Gardnerville in March 2008 and then to the very northern edge of Minden in June. I can say we have greatly enjoyed it here quite a bit. As with everywhere else the economy has not been kind to the area, so I would make sure the job you are looking into is 200% stable for at least the next 2 years, because if it falls through, it might be a very hard to find something else around here. The snow in the carson valley this year has been very light (as I am told) and we go to Tahoe almost every other weekend, only twice going up to Tahoe did we have to toss the chains on and one of those times, I really didn't think it was necessary (though the NHP guy disagreed) as the road didn't have any snow or ice on it. I'm sure if you drove it every day chains would become routine and a few days I'd bet you would be late for work. Good luck and make sure to check the job offer out EXTENSIVELY before packing up the homestead and joining us.
