Default Best Pahrump Hotel??

Hi,
I will be visiting Pahrump in late July to look at property and visit builders. Of the Nugget, Saddle West and the Best Western, can anyone make a recommendation? Thanks.
Paul

I live here, all three are fairly expensive according to those who stay there, but of the three the food is far better at Saddle West. Nugget doesn't have very good food, Best Western only has a place connected which is a bar hangout. Be sure to check out Red Sky BBQ while here, and if here on Fri night they have great seafood buffet at Saddle West. Be sure to join the players club, $2. off on each buffet. tee hee We've got a home and 10 ac for sale on north end....best property and view in the valley.
Good luck and if I can help, just drop me a note. Aphouser

Talking Best Pahrump Hotel

I totally agree with the prior poster...Saddle West is the best for the following: the best food, the best employees, the best slot club, etc. I have NEVER had a bad experience at the Saddle West (and NO, I am not an employee there...if I were, I wouldn't be able to play any pit games or tournaments there.)

They are constantly holding some kind of tournament: currently, Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings are Blackjack Tournaments...only a $20 buy-in and they give you $8 of comps on your player card that you can use for food or souvenirs, etc. And, if you make it to the final table (6 players) you get CASH and more comps. (Most casinos only pay to 3rd or 4th place with the cash.)

They offer FREE slot tournaments on weekday mornings, and a FREE multi-thousand dollar slot tournament one or two times a month.

They just changed ownership last year. The new owners made part of the casino a "no smoking" room, and they got a GREAT new chef for the restaurant. I went there for my birthday last week and (although they were out of the lobster tails I originally wanted) the lasagna I ordered was the BEST I had ever tasted.

The employees are wonderful and, if you end up being a regular, they will greet you by name.

The hotel rooms are regular, deluxe, a small suite (which I have not seen), and the best room in the house contains a LARGE screen TV, a fold out couch, a LARGE jacuzzi tub, and a KING sized bed in a separate bedroom. That is a very nice room. (Not like the VIP suites in Las Vegas, but this isn't a place where people will pay thousands for a night.)

If you decide to come by RV, Saddle West does have an RV Park there (I have met a guy that says he has lived there for 25 years!)

I stayed at all three while I was scoping out Pahrump and trying to decide whether or not to move here.

If you want a peaceful, quiet, good night's sleep, DO NOT stay at the Nugget. The walls are as thin as onion skin; when I stayed there, I heard everything--snoring, sex, conversation, showers, sinks, toilets, TV, radio, dresser drawers and closet doors closing--from all of the adjacent rooms.

The Best Western, IMO, has the nicest rooms of the three. You will pay for that, however; Best Western is the most expensive of the three hotels. If you're on a tight budget, forget the Best Western. Also, if you want to gamble, Best Western does not have a casino.

IMO, the best compromise among the three is the Saddle West. The rooms are reasonably nice and quiet. Their prices are less than Best Western and comparable to the Nugget. Saddle West has a casino, if gambling is your bag. I also found that, among the three hotels, Saddle West had the friendliest staff. This was a year and a half ago. Since then, Saddle West was sold, so different people are running it now. But from what I hear, Saddle West is still good.

I hope this helps.
