Maybe it's pixie dust!
Thanks for that info.
It sounds like it's only an occasional thing (I'm so glad to hear) - so I could likely live okay with that.
If dust doesn't bother you with your contacts in, then I should be fine most of the time.
So thanks for that, as I was really worried there for a bit about the dust issue.
I just read the thread on living in Reno, and it sounds like they have perpetual tornados there (the way so many people talked about the wind,) so am glad to hear Mesquite is not like that.
So thanks again, and I'll start checking out your links.
Thanks for all the help.

That looks pretty nice - not that I can afford it.
Can you tell me what electricity costs monthly - average summer and average winter?
I was just checking out the Pahrump websites, and they say electricity is an average of $125 a month. Is that $60 in the winter and $500 in the summer, or what?
From the pictures they have at the Parhump sites, it looks like Desert Hole, Afghanistan or something - much more dry (at least looking) than Mesquite.
But I know pics can be deceiving. I'll probably visit both towns in the near future.

Thanks again for all the good info.
Yes, when I lived in Phoenix I had the A/C set in the 80's, then had two or three fans going - which kept things pretty cool. So it sounds like we would have roughly the same power bill (though I might like it a little warmer on cold winter days.)
Yes - although I think Pahrump is somewhat cooler than Mesquite - Mesquite looks a LOT more attractive!
Someone just told me that Mesquite has been called, "The next Palm Springs." Is that just real estate hype, or would you agree with that statement?
Thanks again.

'rocco,
I forgot to ask you (or anyone,) what are some good restaurants to try in Mesquite when I visit?
Any particularly memorable (good memorable) places?
Thanks for any suggestions.

'rocco,
Thanks so much for all the good info!
I'll definitely give the one at Wolf Creek a try - and I'll be staying at Falcon Ridge, so will try that too.
I've read review after review that the Oasis is a dump, which is why I didn't stay there. But from what you say it sounds like it's casino and restaurants are ok.
Any further comments on it?
It did have a very low rate - but I was afraid to try it because of the terrible reviews on how old and rundown it is.
Anyway, I'll definitely give some of your recommendations a try - and thanks.
