One of my closest friend came out of Mass. He has been wandering the west for many decades. His son too, lived in Mass and is out here permanent now.

This is he with one of his hiking trips. California: Death Valley Hiking - A desert hiking adventure in Death Valley National Park - Adventure Travel Trips from REI Adventures

He has made his living guiding trips for many years.

zendrive is on a distinguished road
Beatty NV is aproximately 135 miles north of Las Vegas. There are also areas, such as Lathrop Wells, that are worth considering.

If you are looking for amenities that make daily life possible, I would choose Pahrump. There is a wal-mart, plenty of fast food, gaming options and adequate medical care.

You must really like the old west lifestyle if you choose Beatty, Lathrop Wells or Tonopah.

Another vote for Beatty...neat small town.

How about the Amargosa Valley? Rural open an 90 miles to Vegas less to Pahrump. Nice to have a Walmart within an hour.

Been to Tonopah. It is one of those road crossing towns where people live of neccessity. Don't

Hey Clarks...you gotta know Gabbs...we can send him there on the BLM road...

I like Gabbs,, sort of. It is the place where you go when you have run out of all other options. Now, my dream ranch is off the BLM road, way off, but it is a fine piece of ground along a year round creek.
