Smell near Moapa
We moved to Mesquite about 8 weeks ago. Several times on our rides back home from Vegas, we have encountered an extremely nauseating smell, like bad chicken, when we are near Moapa. Does anyone know what this is? Is it toxic?

Depending on the direction of the wind, you might have caught a whiff of the Nellis AFB landfill. There's another private sector landfill between Moapa and Vegas.

West wind? Las Vegas?
A landfill can smell pretty bad, a city does too, but a dairy is a rich earthy smell, a good smell.

Definitely not a dairy smell. Landfill, particularly if thre is a lot of garbage, seems to make sense. The "scented" area covers a few miles.

Not to make you paranoid, but, you are not too far from the Extraterrestrial Highway, no telling what sort of garbage the aliens drop.
