Default Considering move to Nevada

We are planning a move, but we don't know where. We like Nevada. Interested in:
* major airport (we like to travel) within 30 miles or so
* hiking/biking
* zoos and parks
* museums
* botanical gardens and horticultural activities
* colleges
* low taxes
* low crime
* reasonable housing

Have NO interest in:
* sports
* anything involving snow

Does anyone have any suggestions for great cities and towns we should check into?

Well the only place that meets your requirements is Las Vegas and the surrounding area. Everywhere else either has snow or no access to an airport. Here in Ely we have snow 5-6 months of the year and are 240 miles from a major airport (SLC & LV).

Reno is nice but there is snow.

The whole state of Nevada has low taxes - there are no income taxes, only federal income taxes.

Really, there is one four year college in the state, with two campuses. Zoo's well sort of in Reno, dunno about Vegas.

Botanical Garden? One in Reno, nice, takes about a half hour to see it all, again, dunno about Vegas.

Reno gets snow, just enough to snarl the roads.

Vegas is your place. Do you appreciate heat?

Hiking and Biking in and near Reno is absolutely world class, and can be done year round.

where are you coming from? i love Reno, but like you have no interest in snow. But it happens. and it's cold. but other than that, summers are much more pleasant than in vegas. hiking all kinds of places. Lake Tahoe an hour away! gorgeousness. i hated the brown mountains when i moved here from Cali now i love it. definitely reasonable housing is here now that the market crashed. it is the biggest little city in the world, and i believe in my definition that means, its still such a small city, but it has everything you need here. the airport will take you anywhere you need to go, it's pretty much down town. the farthest away you could really get if you are still in reno is like 20 minutes to the airport i think. We have TMCC the community college here, which i enjoyed, and UNR which i can't comment cause i never went, but apparently it's a good school. zoos? i think there is an animal park here, i have yet to go to it, have been meaning to for 3 years now it's a drive out into red rock i think.
definitely outdoorsy stuff here though...
