Driving around Winnemucca once, I heard the announcer read the school lunch menu for the whole week. How boring! I couldn't get any other station in the area (although KOH in Reno comes in sometimes).

Check out Elko Broadcasting Company -Putting the Power of Radio to Work for You! Elko is a nicer town than either Ely or Winnemucca.

NONE of the on air personalities at 1240 AM's AC format or 93.7's Jack format are local, they are all pre-recorded and computer delivered. The only local person is the news director.

Anyway, I'm just expressing my interest in another radio station in Ely, it doesn't affect me much one way or another
Untill about 3 years ago, there was another one that did a 80s/90s/modern music mix. Also did something called Ely Idol in which they broadcasted Karaoke night at the Jailhouse. Uh, that was awful. And I did hear another local station somewhere around 1600 for a while this year. Not sure if it's still around. Played classic rock and had ads for GTC on Great Basin Blvd. who Im sure was the only advertiser. If you're on the east side of town you can always listen to the NDOT road reports station on 530am .

Posting on Craigslist for a Las Vegas radio station:

"Radio Station For sale... no really! - $6,000,000 (Las Vegas, Mesquite)

This is a Las Vegas Rim Shot with booster giving Las Vegas coverage. For sale to qualified buyer. May consider a very well priced LMA to an existing broadcaster. Facility ID 72528 and 177819."

is 40 acres in winnemucca really worth $13000? I am looking to buy there and would like general opinions of people who live there?

Depends on where it is, if it has water and grass, it is a great price, if it is out in poverty flats, it is robbery.

It is an area of acreage parcels north of Winnemucca, known for alkalai soil, horrendous mud, sage no trees, and wind, and it is cheap so poor folk live there, hence poverty flats, where Claude Dallas was run to ground, and is still a hero to many out there, for killing two game wardens in cold blood.
