I've seen some pictures of Carson City, but could someone please tell me if there is green grass?

Sounds like a stupid question, but moving from Pacific NW. Yes. Spoiled.

Thank you.

There ARE areas here that are lush and green if the homeowner takes care of their lawns, but by and large you'll find most of this on the west side of town in the neighborhoods around the Governor's Mansion. You'll find old, historic homes with huge old trees and lovely gardens. The trees are just fabulous! East side of town is off the scrub hills and BROWN. There are jewels to be found!

Very very few homes have grass...It's not a desirable place to live. If I were you see for yourself in person...Minden, gardnerville, Genoa are MUCH MUCH nicer and more affluent...Carson is the bottom of the barrel sort of speak.

You are SO WRONG, Chicci. There are dismal areas, in Carson and EVERYWHERE ELSE. There are are also beautiful areas here. I can look out my window and see trees dating back to the 1800s. There is a GRASSY lot near me where herds of deer graze year round. There is a family of red-tail hawks in one of those ancient trees. The houses in my old, historic neighborhood have LUSH LAWNS and GARDENS.

You have shown time and time again your hatred of Carson City, it borders on psychotic. But again -- YOU NEVER GIVE ONE VALID REASON OR TRUE FACT TO BACK YOU UP. Until you do people will continue to call you on your ridiculous statements.

Carson City is NOT Paris. Thank God.

Sharss -- Carson City like any city is what you make of it. And I reiterate -- there ARE lovely green areas. Take care.

better yet the person that is interested in this area......please visit carson and come back to this thread and tell us YOURSELF what you think then we will have that persons opinion and see what he she thinks.......and then debate if need be for there.......also most of the shops and business have closed down in Carson City leaving it very empty with little to no business the casinos are very dead and there is NO NITE LIFE... you will have to travel to Reno or Tahoe for such.

an this link is interesting indeed http://www.ktvn.com/global/story.asp...Type=Printable

What does Paris have to do with Carson City? I think most people would agree that Paris, France, is MUCH NICER then Carson City since it has a lot to offer and one of the TOP destinations in the WORLD to visit and Carson City does not make the top 5000 list of places to visit....I could think the same of you but, I do not have a Doctors credentials to make such diagnosis and I believe it is illegal to diagnose some one with out one and also on this forum...Just because a person does not agree with you does not mean you need to harasse them...HAVE A NICE DAY!

(mod interpose: Ok, let's remember that everybody is entitled to their opinion about an area and the reader has to distinguish for themselves what opinion is more worthy to consider. Also, the OP didn't ask anything other than if there is green grass in Carson, not if they should move there or not. They may have already made that decision or may have no choice but to move there for a job already secured ...or for any other reason. Until we hear back from the OP, let's keep the discussion to where or how much green grass there is in Carson. Thanks.)

And to the OP question there is lots of green grass and trees in Carson City.

Like most of Nevada and the SW one must irrigate to have much green.

The older neighborhoods of Carson City are quite lovely. It is a very nice place at a lower price point than other nice areas around Reno.
